Our Beginning
On August 20, 1994, Mont’Kiara International School (M’KIS) opened its doors for the first time. With a handful of students and teachers in the heart of a suburb that had yet to truly take shape, the endeavor was a leap of faith.
The M'KIS story has always been about striving for excellence. From the day we welcomed our first students, we have dedicated ourselves to building a future we can all be proud of.

Celebrating Growth
M’KIS celebrated its first graduating class in 2001, one year after becoming an International Baccalaureate World School. Since then, we have proudly celebrated countless achievements, both in the classroom and beyond our school gates.
M’KIS has grown into a diverse school that prepares students for the demands of an increasingly complex world. Supported by engaged and passionate parents, we empower our students to become kind, thoughtful, and transformative leaders of tomorrow.
As our school has grown, Mont’Kiara has matured and flourished into one of the most sought after locations in Kuala Lumpur. M’KIS is a vital part of this booming neighborhood, and continues to grow alongside our Mont'Kiara families.

Over the last 29 years, we’ve undertaken ambitious campus improvement projects including new athletic and playground facilities, investments in technology and innovation, and a dedication to expanding creative and performing arts spaces.
But perhaps our biggest achievement is nurturing a close-knit community of students, staff, teachers, parents, and alumni who have made M’KIS the unique place it is today. While honoring our history, we are excited about continuing to build on our legacy of excellence while welcoming families from across the world.
