Happy 30th Anniversary, M’KIS!

By: Peak Sen Chua

On Friday, August 30th, the Mont’Kiara International School (M’KIS) community gathered to commemorate and celebrate the school’s 30th Anniversary! Students, alumni, parents, and staff formed a large “30” formation on the lower field.

After some fine-tuning and improvements, a drone camera took multiple shots of the community from the air.

Head of School Robert Cody, school leadership, guests, parents, founding teachers, staff, alumni, and others gathered to sing “Happy Birthday, M’KIS!”

The community was then treated to custom-made 30th Anniversary cupcakes from Bisou, a renowned local bakeshop.

Celebrating Anniversaries Through the Years

Since the school's 15th Anniversary in 2008, it has been a M’KIS tradition to gather the community in numerical formations. The 15th, 20th, and 25th Anniversary photos are in the Admissions Office!

Before the 15th Anniversary, anniversary photos were taken in the Courtyard. The 10th Anniversary photo was the last taken in this format and can also be found in the Admissions Office.

The official 30th Anniversary photo will soon be printed and hung around the school, adding to the school's historical records.

Thank you

Gathering all members of the M’KIS community for this celebration was accomplished only due to the contributions of all community members.

This included:

  • The support of the Board of Governors in making the celebration a reality,
  • Bisou for preparing hundreds of personalized cupcakes just for the M’KIS community,
  • Marketing and Communications for planning, organizing, and advertising the event,
  • M'KIS Leadership team, the principals, and vice principals for organizing the students and teachers to gather and take their places in the field,
  • The support staff for guiding the community to their places for the "30" formation, popping confetti, and distributing cupcakes,
  • Students and teachers for gathering in the field in a seamless and orderly fashion, and
  • Alumni and parents for taking time out of their schedules to attend.

To all community members who participated in this celebration, thank you for your support in celebrating M’KIS!

We look forward to welcoming community members, old and new, as the school moves from strength to strength in the years to come!
