THE BERITA / 2016 – 2017 ISSUE 2
The annual elementary ISAC track meet was held on February 24, at the beau ful Alice Smith Equine Park facili es. Although it started out as a cloudy, wet, rainy morning, this compe ve meet quickly turned into a day full of sunshine, excitement, and teamwork. For many MKIS students, it was their rst experience compe ng on a full sized track and, for most, it was the rst me they had par cipated in an event of this size. There were 9 schools par cipa ng with over 250 elementary athletes. Even though MKIS is one of the smallest schools - many of the others
having a student body twice the size - the Tiger team put forth a commendable e ort. MKIS brought home a number of medals including a couple of rst places. More importantly, they demonstrated excellent sportsmanship by compe ng through the Malaysian heat, suppor ng their own team mates, and cheering on opposing school members. We would also like to extend a big thank you to all of the parents who came and supported the Tiger team, as well as the teachers who volunteered to help run the events.
