Love Letter From A Pen To An Eraser - By Stefanie
You were always the ‘bad boy’
Never looking for something serious
And constantly erasing your feelings as if you were some..
I could see through it all.
Behind your paper casing
You were as soft as the rest of us
Although I loved things permanent,
I was feeling in the mood to experiment.
Deep down in the springs that held me together,
I knew that you wouldn’t be able to erase our connection
I was right.
Spring hadn’t yet sprung but you sprang
Into the springs that coiled around my ink-filled heart
The same way my heart coiled
Around the spring-less rubber
That made up your body from head to toe.
I know that, someday, I’ll run out of ink
To write you love letters like these
And, someday, you’ll run out of the rubber you use
To rub yourself closer to me.
But I also know that, even if that day comes,
You’ll continue to try and wipe away my dried-up, dotted lines,
Just to see my smirk
As you realise time and time again,
That we are permanent.
Well, I am permanent.
And you are not.
But I am enough permanence for the both of us.
And you are enough for me.
