Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA)

Visual and Performing Arts is a key component of MKIS’ academic curriculum, fostering a balanced education for the whole child. We believe that the arts provide a unique avenue to realizing creative powers as well as accessing imagination which empowers students in every aspect of their education and lives. Our Visual and Performing Arts teachers cultivate engaging and respectful environments, while providing performance and showcase opportunities both on and off campus . In elementary school, students have the opportunity to explore various processes and techniques. In middle and high school, students are able to continue exploration while also engaging in higher levels of mastery. Participation in the arts offer further opportunities for critical thinking and self-directed learning and enable students to become effective communicators – all part of our school IB Learner Profile.
