Middle School Curriculum Overview
Our Grade 6-8 curriculum includes four core subjects: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Our ELA curriculum is a balanced literacy program that cultivates reading, writing, speaking and listening within an adapted Reading and Writing Workshop Model using the Common Core State Standards. Our Mathematics curriculum is also based on the Common Core State Standards and Eureka Math resources from the U.S.A. Our Science and STEM curriculum follows the Next Generation Science Standards and offers opportunities for students to explore information technology, coding, and robotics. Our Social Studies curriculum is adapted from the AERO Common Core Plus standards standards, specially designed for overseas U.S. schools.
Mont’Kiara is an international school with a North American curriculum and a global perspective. The school provides a comprehensive and sequential documented curriculum that is articulated within and across grade levels for the improvement of programs, learning, and teaching. These standards are delivered through the International Baccalaureate framework.
