Grade 4 Writer's Celebration
The fourth-grade classes celebrated the end of their Narrative Fiction writing unit by sharing their finished products with parents. Students created a narrative fiction story based on a real person or real events from their lives. They turned an everyday event into an exciting adventure!
Through sharing their entire writing process with parents, students were able to explain all the work that goes into creating a story. Parents were very impressed with the writer's craft shown. Students used figurative language, internal and external character traits, interesting leads, dialogue, interesting adjectives and more to create adventures that made us all want to read more and more!
Photo Week at M'KIS
Say cheese! From PreK 3 through to the grade 12, everyone seemed to have a smile on their face during photo week at Mont'Kiara International School. Every student spent a few moments striking poses for the visiting camera crew. It was great fun and we can't wait to see the results. Thanks, Prêt-a-Portrait for an amazing week.
Thank you, Mr. Vincent Ventura
M'KIS was lucky to have Mr. Vincent Ventura from LitLife PD here to run some amazing professional development with our faculty. Brilliant, knowledgeable, witty, dynamic, and eye-opening were just some of the words that our faculty used to describe Mr. Ventura and what they learned over the past few days. Thank you, Mr. Ventura, we hope to see you again very soon.
Back to School Parent Night - Middle and High School
Our middle and high school parents were invited for an experiential evening at M'KIS. Parents got to follow their child's schedule, find their classes, and meet their teachers.
Thank you to all of the parents who joined us for this informative and fun evening.
Elementary Swim Trial at M'KIS
Elementary swim season is getting underway. We had a great elementary swim trial earlier this week. Well done to all elementary students who came down and showed us their M'KIS Tiger Spirit.
Our elementary swim team is open to students from grade 2 through to grade 5. It's a great way for our young athletes to get into the competitive spirit as we compete against other international schools. Our coaches are ready to go and can't wait for the first official practice of the season.
M'KIS 2018 IB Results
M'KIS had another very successful year in the IB Diploma Programme with a 95.5% pass. This far surpasses the world average pass rate in 2017 of 78.4%. The M'KIS average passing diploma score was 33 and the highest diploma score was 42 (out of a possible 45).
Well done to all our IB Diploma students. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

It fills us with a sense of pride when one of our students gets selected to represent Malaysia. Zoe, a grade 12 student, was recently selected to represent Malaysia in the Youth Touch Rugby World Cup in Malaysia. The team played against some of the top rugby playing nations in the world including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States.
“It was an honor to be selected to represent Malaysia and to play against the best in the world.”
Zoe was introduced to touch rugby in grade 9 by her friends and our long-standing touch rugby coach, Mr. Roderick. After only one season, the rugby bug had bitten and Zoe was hooked for life. Since then, Zoe has been part of a legacy that has won two division one ISAC titles, and a bronze medal in SEASAC division one. Zoe’s hope for this year is to build on these achievements and help lead another M’KIS team to touch rugby success.
Well done, Zoe. The M'KIS Community is very proud of you and we are certain that you will succeed in whatever you put your mind to. Keep pushing forward and crossing that tri-line.
