High School Curriculum Overview
Our Grade 9-10 curriculum includes four core subjects: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Our ELA curriculum is a balanced literacy program that cultivates reading, writing, speaking and listening and is based on the American Common Core State Standards. Students learn digital and media literacy through integrated information technology studies. Our Mathematics curriculum is also based on the Common Core State Standards and supported by instruction based on current best practices. Our Science curriculum allows students to explore science while developing their scientific reasoning skills and is specially designed to prepare them for future IB studies. Our Social Studies curriculum is adapted from the AERO Common Core Plus standards standards, specially designed for overseas U.S. schools.
Our students learn via inquiry-based practices that apply concepts to apt scenarios while developing non-fiction literacy. Our 9-10 curriculum is designed to develop our students towards success in years 11-12 in our IB Diploma Programme.
Mont’Kiara is an international school with a global perspective delivered through International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.
