Welcome to the M'KIS Parents' Association
The Parents’ Association is group of volunteers dedicated to building an enriched community at M’KIS. Our mission is to promote the ideas and goals of the school, to maintain high standards of cooperation, to enhance education, to promote co-curricular activities, to assist teachers, administrators and staff, and to encourage worthwhile activities in the school.
LEARNING AWARENESS SUPPORT GROUP
The Learning Awareness Support Group is for parents who have children with Learning Differences. Kids with learning differences have a gap between their intellectual ability and their achievement in school. We know they’re smart, but they don’t always perform well in the classroom. Sometimes it’s in a particular area like Math or Reading. Sometimes it’s more pervasive – they having difficulty staying focused, sitting still, being organized…
In our monthly meetings, we discuss information about learning differences, share concerns and discuss strategies to help our kids and ourselves. We also share information about professional resources available in and around KL.
Next Meeting: Wednesday, May 22 at 1:30pm
Place: M’KIS Activity Room (near Theatre tech)
(This is the final meeting of the year.)

M'KIS MARI MAKAN COOKBOOK
A huge ‘thank you’ goes out to all the families who contributed their favorite recipes so we can continue to share our traditions with each other long after Mari Makan has passed. We’ve gathered over 65 recipes from 28 countries, making our first-ever M’KIS cookbook truly international and something to be proud of. We couldn’t have created such a wonderful book without special parent volunteers including Dorte Dyrlund, our graphic designer and Stephanie Koop who took many beautiful photos for us to include.
The cookbooks will be on sale for RM40 until the end of the year when Spirit Wear is sold, at the PA General Membership Meeting on May 7 and at other scheduled times to be included in The Link.
