Fees 2013-2014

Information for New Enrollment - 2013/2014 Academic Year

1. Fee Schedule

a) The Application Fee is RM1,000.00. 

The Application Fee is non-refundable and includes the cost of processing of the Application plus our M’KIS Academic Screen. 

The M'KIS Academic Screen is administered to all applicants regardless of previous academic background. 

Please note that the payment of the Application Fee and sitting for the Academic Screen does not guarantee admission to M’KIS.

 b) The English Language Learner (ELL) Assessment Fee is RM1,000.00. 

The ELL Assessment Fee is in addition to the Application Fee of RM1,000.00 and will apply to student applicants whose linguistic background is judged by the Admissions Department as being in need of further objective validation by M’KIS personnel.

 c) The Registration Fee is RM29,000.00 which is non-refundable

The registration fee is a one-time payment for students who enroll in Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Three year-old students enrolling in Kindergarten Preparatory (KP) will not be assessed a Registration Fee, rather a one-time processing/assessment fee of RM2,500.00 will be applied to KP applicants.

Four year-old students enrolling in Kindergarten Preparatory Advanced (KPA):

    • pay only 50% of the registration fee of RM29,000.00 which is RM14,500.00.
    • Upon enrolling into  Kindergarten, the balance of RM14,500.00 is due.

 d) Students who return are assessed a re-enrollment fee per year. The current re-enrollment fee is RM4,000.00 which is non-refundable.

 e) Tuition Fees for the year 2013/2014:-

  • Kindergarten Preparatory (KP, KPA)          -  RM50,969.00
  • Kindergarten                                           -  RM73,644.00
  • Elementary School (Grades 1 – 5)            -  RM79,845.00
  • Middle School (Grades 6 – 8)                   -  RM89,340.00
  • High School (Grades 9 – 12)                    -  RM98,839.00

Parents are advised that M’KIS, unlike many other international schools, does not levy extra charges for English as a Second Language support nor are there levies for building and grounds fees.

 2. Payment of Fees

a) Fees are payable in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) and may be paid by cheque, money order or wire transfer.

 c) Mont’ Kiara International School sends billing notices twice a year.

 3. Surcharge for Late Payment

A surcharge of five percent (5%) is applied for payments received one week after semester has commenced.

4. Discounted Fees

For families enrolling more than two children, the third child onwards will receive a tuition fee discount of five percent (5%). This discount applies to tuition fees only, and will be credited to child / children paying the lower tuition fees.

5. Prorated Fees

New students who register after the school year has started will have the tuition fees prorated on a quarterly basis at the time of admission.

6. Fees Increase

Tuition fees will be increased yearly between 8% and 10%.

7. No Refund

Students who withdraw before the end of the school year will be charged full tuition fees for the semester in which they withdraw.

8. Student Fees Coordinator

9. School Hours

Mondays through Fridays on the following schedules:-

  • Kindergarten Preparatory (KP, KPA)    8:30 am – 1:30 pm
  • Kindergarten to Grade 5                     8:30 am – 3:00 pm
  • Grade 6 to Grade 12                          8:20 am – 3:00 pm

10.  School Uniforms

Students are required to wear approved school uniforms. Uniforms can be purchased from the Student Store located next to the School Café.

11.  Busing

School bus service is available to students. The fee for this service is based on the distance from the residence to the school.

Applications for bus services are available at the Admissions Office.
