M'KIS Sports Achievements

SEASAC Swimming - Singapore March 2 & March 3, 2012 (March 9, 2012) The M’KIS Swim Team made its way down to Singapore to take part in this year’s SEASAC Swimming Championships. There was some stern competition with a number of national swimmers from various countries taking part.  Despite this, our swimmers performed admirably and with great sportsmanship. There were notable performances by Kay Lynn (Grade 11) and Susanna H.(Grade 6) who took home a bag of medals between them.  Many students beat their personal best times and are really looking forward to the next big swim meet. Overall, the team spent hundreds of hours training in the pool for up to five days a week which is fantastic display of commitment and dedication.  Congratulations and thanks go out to the M’KIS Swim Team, including those who didn’t take part in SEASAC for their efforts.  Furthermore to Coach Cindy and Coach Wei, thank you for all your contributiuons. Elementary School Track & Field (March 9, 2012) Mont Kiara’s Elementary Track and Field Team completed its season with a successful meet at Bukit Jalil Stadium. They competed against eight KL schools and placed third overall. Impressive performances were given by all athletes both on the track and in field events. Many Mont’Kiara students came home sporting medals. Outstanding winners were: Elena K.- 3rd place U11 girls High Jump Farischka S.- 3rd place U11 girls 100m, and 2nd place U11 girls 200m Erin M.- 3rd place U9 girls 50m, 2nd place U9 girls 100m, and 2nd place U9 girls Long jump. Sierra K.- 3rd place U9 girls long jump, 1st place U9 girls 200m, 2nd place U9 girls 400m. ISAC Track & Field Meet – March 3, 2012 (March 9, 2012) Congratulations to all athletes that took part in the ISAC track and field meet held at Bukit Jalil. At the MS/HS level we had 32 participants, many of whom set personal bests on the day. Thank you for all the support from faculty, students and parents. It really was a ‘Team Effort’. A Champion in Our Midst (December 9, 2011) M’KIS students excel in all fields of endeavor – in academics, in athletics, in the arts, and in service to others. Many of our students excel in activities outside of school. One such student is Josh G. Josh has a passion for the game of golf. He competed in the Brunei Faldo Series U-20 Championship and the KRPM-Transview Junior Masters U-20 (Malaysia), of which he finished first in both tournaments. He will also be participating in the Greg Norman International Junior Masters held in Australia.
M’KIS Swimmers Make Us Proud (November 25, 2011) 21 M’KIS swimmers (Two from ES, 11 from MS and eight fro HS) participated in the President Cup at Shah Alam Stadium on the weekend of November 19 and competed amongst 1488 swimmers from all over Malaysia. All of our swimmers did extremely well, improved on their times, and scored points for the local club they were representing – Stingray Club. Go Tigers! M’KIS Athlete Receives High Honor (September 23, 2011) We are proud to announce that Kay Lynn, our Grade 11 student and prominent swimmer for M’KIS has been selected to compete on the female water polo team representing Malaysia at the Malaysia Games in Melaka. Congratulations and best of luck to Kay Lynn!
