Got (Powdered) Milk?
(February 24, 2012)
MyGO recently wrapped up a two-week long “Powdered Milk Drive” to collect donations for the Malaysian Social Research Institute (MSRI). MSRI works to assist refugees – mostly from Iran, Iraq & Afghanistan – who are currently living in Kuala Lumpur. The milk will go to provide nutrition to people of all ages who have lost everything and now find themselves living in exile in Malaysia.
In the process of the Powdered Milk Drive, Dutch Lady Milk Industries heard of our efforts and offered a generous donation of 36 1kg bags of Instant Filled Milk Powder and 120 900gram tins of Frisomum Gold – a product designed specifically for pregnant & nursing mothers. Combined with this donation, the MKIS community collected well over 300 bags, boxes & tins of powdered milk to donate to MSRI. The members of MyGO would like to thank all who donated or assisted in this project. |

Save the Tiger Day
(September 23, 2011)
“Save the Tiger Day” was a special addition to our Spirit Week this year, not only to further recognize our school mascot, but also to raise awareness and add support to the efforts being made to save this endangered species in Malaysia. Students and staff were encouraged to wear our school “tiger” colors, and to consider making a contribution during homerooms.
Contributions tallied by the Tiger Team, and a check of RM6,700 was presented to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to assist them in their efforts to protect the Malayan tiger.
Great work Tiger Team and M’KIS community! |
